I have been a dental hygienist for 40 years, graduating from the University of Minnesota. I still love dentistry and continue to enjoy the patients who have become dear friends over those many years. Helping someone go from frightened to smiling in my chair is one of my greatest rewards.
I have been married longer than I have been a hygienist to my best friend Billy and we have an amazing son (Jon), daughter-in-law (Nikki) and 2 delightful grandchildren (Parker and Avery). We enjoy being “Up North” grandparents with a big garden, 4-wheeler, and a boat to enjoy Lake Charlevoix.
Hello, my name is Vickie. I have been working in the dental field as a Registered Dental Hygienist for the past 25 years. I enjoy educating and motivating my patients to use the tools they need to achieve a healthy, white and bright smile. I am married, we have two children and a dog at home.
My family moved up north when I was three years old and I have never really left. I originally attended Lake Superior State University as an environment major right after graduation from Boyne City High School.
After my sophomore year of college, I decided environment was not for me and I went out to chase my dream. I ended up at Mott Community College out of Flint where I later graduated with my extended degree in Dental Hygiene. After my completion from Mott I moved back up North and started my career as a RDH later landing me at Dentistry By the Bay. I stay up to date on all safety courses in and out of the office along with continuing education courses involving care of implants and HIPAA.
Outside of the office I love to be outdoors and doing everything and anything that Northern Michigan has to offer. My husband and I love everything from kayaking down the Boyne River to Jeeping on Drummond Island. As long as we are out enjoying the weather, rain or shine we are happy as can be!
I was blessed to join Dentistry By the Bay in 2007 when I moved here to Petoskey. My role here has evolved over the years taking me out of my comfort zone of assisting and into management, marketing, social media, and other administrative duties.
I am able to utilize my business degree from Baker College with these expanded duties of the office. I love every aspect of what I do, where I work, the Team I work with and all of the amazing patients that we have here at Dentistry By the Bay! I have taken many different continuing education courses some of which include Orthodontics, Temporomandibular Dysfunction, Sleep Apnea, OSHA, Appliance Therapy, Trios Scanning and Social Media.
I have an amazing and talented husband. We have an adorable, smart and hilarious daughter who was born on Christmas Day. I am a proud Aunt to a handsome nephew and an adorable niece. I enjoy Jeeping all over Michigan with my family and friends!
I have been a Dental Assistant since 1982. In the summer of 2013 I completed the exam to become a Certified Dental Assistant. In 2015 I continued my education by getting my license to become a Registered Dental Assistant. I had a lot of dentistry as a young adult and that made me want to show people that it did not have to be a bad experience. I love making people feel comfortable here at Dentistry By the Bay!
My family gives me a reason to smile! I have two wonderful sons and a new granddaughter who gives me joy every day.
My dental career started back in 2004. I have been working with Dr. Mercer since 2006. Over the past few years I have been coming to work at Dentistry By the Bay with Dr. Mercer on Tuesdays. I received my X-ray Certification through the University of Michigan.
I am a native to Northern Michigan. The summers up here are beautiful. I really enjoy spending time at the beach and with my large four-legged family of pups.
I enjoy working with the public and of course this provided a unique opportunity. With that being said I have worked with Dr. Johnna Driscoll and Dentistry By the Bay since 1996. Although my current position is that of administrative assistant, I also have a clinical background as both X-ray technician and dental assistant. You may see me working in both areas of the practice as we work as a team to provide quality care and service to our patients.
I am a lifelong resident of the Petoskey area and currently reside near Walloon Lake with my husband and our two cocker spaniels Lola and Piper. Together we have 2 grown children Steven and Lauren. Being that I am native to the area, I have to say that I enjoy all that the area has to offer in any season, however my favorite is exploring the local preserve trails with my pups.
I have been a part of this amazing team at Dentistry By the Bay since 2012. I am one of the 3 lovely ladies you will see when you come into the office. I specialize in insurance, scheduling, and financial arrangements. I continue to learn how to help the practice and patients by attending dental seminars.
I was born and raised in Petoskey, this beautiful place we get to call home. I have a son Rocky who is the world to me and keeps me busy playing outside and reading books. When I have spare time, I like to spend it with my family, go camping, and enjoy being outdoors!
I was blessed to join this amazing team in 2017. I truly enjoy getting to know all the patients on a personal level. When patients come into the office my top goal is to make them feel welcome and cared for.
I am married to my amazing husband; Shawn and we have two dogs. As a Michigan native, I enjoy spending time outdoors and take advantage of each season. Boating, kayaking, snowmobiling, and 4-wheeling are just a few things I like to do in my free time.
Dr. Johnna Driscoll graduated from The University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 1990 and has been practicing in Petoskey her entire career. On a personal note, Dr. Driscoll has three children; a married daughter in San Francisco along with her first grandson, a son living in St. Ignace and she also has a daughter in school in Harbor Springs. She loves living in Northern Michigan and in her free time she likes to read, hike, bike, ski and bake cookies for everyone to enjoy.
